Sofware Systems Design
Program Overview
Specialized in Software System Design and be one of a select group of Ontario students to receive a four-year bachelor’s degree in Applied Information Sciences. North America has a critical need for highly specialized software designer.
The only its kind in the province, the program has a unique focus on system design, a blend of technology and business subjects as well as industry placement. It also provides specialization in mobile application development or service-oriented architecture and cloud computing. The program places emphasis on advanced software standards and management.
Software Systems Design includes three software development projects. These real-world business applications will require students to utilize all the technical, systems and business skills acquired during their studies to build higher quality software.
Since 2010, the Software Systems Design program is a fully Canadian Information Processing Society (CIPS) ISTAC accredited program. Graduates from the program are eligible to apply for certified membership to CIPS.

If you have a Computer Programmer /Analysts diploma from an Ontario community college or similar program from another college/ university, you may be eligible to obtain this bachelor degree Applied Information Sciences in two years.

The curriculum presented here covers subject matter that is dynamic in nature and will be revised as appropriate to assure it retains its currency. Internal curriculum review is ongoing. As well, PEQAB (the Post-secondary Education Quality Assessment Board) has a well-established review process. The same rigorous external review process that was used to obtain degree approval will be used to review the program again every five years.
